Go Sakartvelo

I've lived in Georgia off and on since 2009, when I first came as a volunteer with the Peace Corps. Then I was livin in the small, cozy town of Bolnisi, where I was helping run a youth center, which included setting up an Internet lab forr the kids (this was in ye olden days before cell phones brought the Internet and TikTok-scrolling to children everywhere). At that time, this mostly meant that kids now had unlimited access to Grand Theft Auto, but whatever. At least their English was getting better... After that, I've been staying in Tbilisi ruling as accordion king and strolling the streets like a boss (according to my own imagination). Join me below on some audio tour walks through these streets, or contact me and I can show you them personally.

Rustaveli Avenue

Check out the main street in Tbilisi and learn where the old rivers used to run, where a giant church dedicated to Russia's militarism once stood, and the unique history behind the two tallest hotels on the street.

Neu Tiflis

This part of town was founded by Germans, settled there during Tsarina Catherine the Great. Learn about the secrets of the football stadium, discover the Palace of Love (one of my favorite museums, which is really about Georgia's cinema history) and find out about Georgia's history of theatre.
