It can easily get to the upper 30s (that’s around 100 in Americanese) and it has a touch of humidity or smog or whatever unregulated thing is hanging in the air, creating a kind of oven effect. Luckily, unlike most places in Europe, restaurants and cafes often have air conditioning, so it’s never too horrendous.
When I lived through a Ukrainian winter, I knew that alcohol can indeed be your friend. One shot when leaving the apartment building can give you a casual ignorance of the fierce freeze. Meanwhile, in a Tbilisi summer, and icy cold brew can be your key to relaxation. But when you’re traveling with kids, or you’re a Muslim, or maybe you just prefer to get wet to cool down, you’ve got to hit some pools.

There are a few interesting alternatives to sitting at a swimming pool, like laying out at a lake (next blog) or even a water park, which is, interestingly, a much cheaper alternative to most pools. Gino Paradise: The Ultimate Aquatic Oasis
Gino Paradise is a 13-hectare aquatic wonderland situated near the Tbilisi Sea and is, I think, the best Tbilisi has to offer on the water-front. It's the largest and most popular aqua park in Tbilisi. Especially since the water park at Didube shut down during covid.
The park boasts a decent array of key features and facilities. Its pools include a wavy pool equipped with a climbing wall, a slow-going "wild" river for a float, a panorama pool featuring a bar and sea views (though it featured a construction wall instead when I was there), and a dedicated outdoor children's space with various slides and warm water for the little ones. For those seeking a bit of rejuvenation, hot tubs with hydro massage are available, and there's a 25-meter Olympic pool spposedly for serious swimmers... but this is Georgia so mostly it's just teenagers in the way.
My kid's favorite feature was the wave pool, and every time the signal went off for the waves to begin he'd drag us back out there. Absolute bonkers about it.
And there's also Eastern Europe's tallest 31-meter toboggan, which offers 6 tunnel slides and 5 different speeds.

Getting there is not at all straightforward. It is located on Beshenova Street, adjacent to the Tbilisi Sea. It’s not so accessible to the public transit, though if you can get to Station’s Square you can either get a cheap enough taxi or take the 333 bus.
Admission and pricing for Gino Paradise are set at 99 GEL (approximately $36.7 USD) on weekends, with a sale price of 74.25 GEL (approximately $27.5 USD) also available. Which makes it weirdly one of the cheaper places to get wet and lie out, cheaper than just swimming pools.

Getting there is pretty easy as it’s just past Vake Park on Chavchavadze Ave. 49B. It is easily accessible by various public transport options, including bus lines (345) from Vake or Rustaveli, or by taxi.
Admission and pricing for a one-day entrance pass is 100 GEL (approximately $37 USD), which includes access to the swimming pool, sauna, and fitness club. For children aged 8 to 18 years, admission is 50 GEL (approximately $18.5 USD) per day. Various monthly and yearly passes are also available, offering better value for frequent visitors.
